can you say PLAGIARIZED?

By now I believe all us girls have rocked out to Avril Lavgine's 'Girlfriend' hit, for some obvious reasons! Am I right? The song was one of those hits that from ages 4-40 enjoyed and still do! Avril was a huge idol when I was growing up, and since she’s from Canada it was even more inspiring! But in 2007 things started go downhill for Avril when her hit single 'Girlfriend' was told to be plagiarized. What did she plagiarize? A 1978 song called 'I wanna be your boyfriend' by The Rubinoos. So here’s your wakeup call Avril, rock’in kids from the 70's are still around and TOTALLY noticed! How did everyone notice? They easily noticed through the rhythm, the beat, the tempo and the lyrics! It’s really as plain as toast. Here’s a few examples, Avril Lavgine Lyrics "Hey! Hey! You! You! I don't like your girlfriend! No way! No way! I think you need a new one, Hey! Hey! You! You! I could be your girlfriend." The Rubinoos Lyrics "Hey, You, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend Trying to say I wanna be your number one Hey, You, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend Gonna make you love me before I'm done". These lyrics are more similar then some may think, in Avril's lyrics 'hey' and 'you' are repeated right after each other exactly like in The Rubinoo's 'I wanna be your boyfriend'. Another factor heavily going against Avril is the fact that if you were to speed up the beat, tempo and add a few claps into The Rubinoo's ’I wanna be your boyfriend' you then magically have Avril Lavgines 'Girlfriend' with slightly different lyrics. Other than that, hey hey you you YOU PLAGARIZED AVRIL! This overall put a big squeeze on her image; did parents want their children looking up to someone who 'cheated'? So guilty or innocent is the real question. Avril, states innocent but when analyzed the majority says guilty. Many plagiarized songs have been slide under the rug and we hear no more of, so will this be another one? For example Jason Derulo’s ‘whatcha say’ full-out plagagized Imogen Heap’s ‘Hide and Seek’ There’s one thing we should all know by now, how many times must teachers, mentors, and guardians enforce this into the minds of the public, plagiarizing is wrong, even for superstars.

So I believe I have shown my point of view of the subject, what about yours and your brother from another mother’s and yes, and your sister from another mister’s?!
