M-A-L-E Violence
A whopping 90% of abuse committed is by males. When you first look at the number, it’s rather shocking, yet it is a reality. Male violence is sadly becoming the norm, weather its seen in video games, music videos, movies, TV or even just photos, it being more acceptable every day. Simply because of this, it is worth taking the time to focus on this issue as it specifically relates to men. Many turn their cheek to male violence, and its totals are increasing every day vastly. Violence has become a large part in our everyday life, weather big or small it affects us all. After all Boys Will Be Boys, so does that give them the right to be rebellious? I think not.
f-i-v-e stereotypes include:

Attitude is Everything

In the Chanel Advertisment, the man is seen attacking his own shadow that appears to be bigger than him, yet he is succeeding and getting what he wants. This man looks to be about mid-20’s early 30’s when it is the ideal for a person to achieve what he/she wants or desires in life.

The Cave Man Mentality

This technique easily demonstrates masculinity in male advertisements. Just by what the people are wearing in the advertisement it displays dirty and rough play Blood and dirt resemble the cave man mentality.

The New Warriors

Call of Duty is a prime example of a New Warriors Advertisement; the vast majority of teenage boys play such a violent video game influencing them in more ways then one. New Warriors advertisements make consumers associate danger, violence and excitement with the products that are being advertised.

Muscles and the "Ideal Man"

These ads portray a strong, muscular body with the image of ideal manhood. With the sort of sexualized quotation, the advertisement over all( showing a muscular man) is a perfect example of the “Ideaal Man”. They are creating an unrealistic reality.

Heroic Masculinity

Is Hollywood's glamorization of male violence; portray the violent male as a heroic ideal. Spider man is utterly glamorized to the maximum, both his dark side and good side.

M-O-D

On November 20th I and I believe our entire class had the experience of a lifetime! From watching behind the scenes to actually being on television! "HI MOM!". Much Music is much much more than what it is made out to be. So much happened behind the scenes, its incredible! Not only were our brains overflowed with information but also with complete images of what is what while its happening in real life! Just before we were 'featured' on much on demand, we had the compete pleasure to visit the television museum. At first it didn't seem as much but when explained in detailed it was a earful. From learning who developed the very first television to how much music came to be! Moses Znaimer created the show itself, yet it never would of came to be if it wasn't for the large amount of people that hold it all together every step of the way. When our class was in the audience i was udderly shocked to find out there is nothing set in stone at much, no script no nothing. Well, other than the 'NOW EVERYBODY SCREAM, GET LOUD, CLAP!". MOD is extremely entertanive, so may teens are glued to the show, with their controversy stories, funny jokes, dancing and most of all creativity. VJ's defiantly benefit from much music and so must much's sponsers ad creators. which such uniqueness MOD is one of a kid!

MOD covers almost all subjects teens and tweens are interested in, the possibilities are endless, literally! Both side of the story is told on MOD, both negative and positive. MOD throws new things at teens everyday and they devour it. MOD shows a way of life that is desirable, but not nessicarly always available to every teen. In my opinion, Much should revise what they are feeding today youth, making sure things do not get completely blown out of proportion.

Much's idea of importance s portrayed in all their shows, sometimes its not nessicarily the factual importance that is showed. Overall, MOD is definitely FTW! (for the win!). OD has it's highlights, lowlights and out f this world crazy haircuts, but in the end hair grows back and MOD bounces back!

OMG YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A CAMERA INFRONT OF YOU AND YOU MESS UP!

Over the past few weeks we were asked to create a documentary on an era of our choice and it was totally not as easy as it seems! Our group choose the 90's era. Alexis, Jesse and I collectively decided to dress ourselves up as characters from saved by the bell. We then planned out our storyboard with much difficultly and humor. Next,we headed over to value village and bought the most 90's ugly shirts, pants and accessories. After that we went to my house and hunted down a mullet for the one and only Slater! At Alexis's house we filmed and created most of the video. Sadly, it all went to waste... so in the end it was truly a waste of time just goofing around. AT least we admit it! That week during school hours we re-filmed the footage from Alexis's house and it went rather well with quite a few bloopers! That up coming Saturday we decided to get together again, early in the morning. When Jesse and I arrived at Alexis's she was ready with coffee, shes too sweet. That day we pretty much edited and organized the whole movie.Including video clips, photos, narration, and much more. Video clips were the most difficlut part, my updated movie maker will not take to youtube videos, therefore we did it the hard way and filmed each and every video. It was totally not how we wanted to do it. Alexis's momma served lunch and it was amazing, 5 minute fried are delicious, yet Jesse uses WAY too much ketchup! With only a Little bit of goofing off, we successfully finished more than half of the video! At around 5 o'clock we all left Alexis's house and headed home because it was Halloween! Sunday pasted and both Alexis and I had to work at inconvenient times. But by Sunday night the movie was magically done! Monday morning was the best day of my life, just to see the movie play in front of my classmates was a HUGE relief! Overall I'd absolutely love to hate this project. Alexis, Jesse and I had an amazing, difficult and hilarious time doing such an awesome assignment! Although we wanted to seriously give beatings to one another, my laptop and the video itself, in the end it went extremely well!

I really enjoyed all of my classmates videos, they were informational and easy to understand. Their format differed from our own and it was nice to see different styles. This made each and every video unique. I think the method of doing year by year went extremly well even though it was alot more time consuming. Also the fads, fashion, music and etc titles worked very well. I built on my knowledge of the eras by watching all the unique and different videos. Overall I think all of the videos went extremly well, and I enjoyed all of them. It was neat to see how each era different from the next. I love how each and every video had humor included in it, enlightening the whole process. Ms. Jeppesen's Media class videos are totally the word on the street!

can you say PLAGIARIZED?

By now I believe all us girls have rocked out to Avril Lavgine's 'Girlfriend' hit, for some obvious reasons! Am I right? The song was one of those hits that from ages 4-40 enjoyed and still do! Avril was a huge idol when I was growing up, and since she’s from Canada it was even more inspiring! But in 2007 things started go downhill for Avril when her hit single 'Girlfriend' was told to be plagiarized. What did she plagiarize? A 1978 song called 'I wanna be your boyfriend' by The Rubinoos. So here’s your wakeup call Avril, rock’in kids from the 70's are still around and TOTALLY noticed! How did everyone notice? They easily noticed through the rhythm, the beat, the tempo and the lyrics! It’s really as plain as toast. Here’s a few examples, Avril Lavgine Lyrics "Hey! Hey! You! You! I don't like your girlfriend! No way! No way! I think you need a new one, Hey! Hey! You! You! I could be your girlfriend." The Rubinoos Lyrics "Hey, You, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend Trying to say I wanna be your number one Hey, You, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend Gonna make you love me before I'm done". These lyrics are more similar then some may think, in Avril's lyrics 'hey' and 'you' are repeated right after each other exactly like in The Rubinoo's 'I wanna be your boyfriend'. Another factor heavily going against Avril is the fact that if you were to speed up the beat, tempo and add a few claps into The Rubinoo's ’I wanna be your boyfriend' you then magically have Avril Lavgines 'Girlfriend' with slightly different lyrics. Other than that, hey hey you you YOU PLAGARIZED AVRIL! This overall put a big squeeze on her image; did parents want their children looking up to someone who 'cheated'? So guilty or innocent is the real question. Avril, states innocent but when analyzed the majority says guilty. Many plagiarized songs have been slide under the rug and we hear no more of, so will this be another one? For example Jason Derulo’s ‘whatcha say’ full-out plagagized Imogen Heap’s ‘Hide and Seek’ There’s one thing we should all know by now, how many times must teachers, mentors, and guardians enforce this into the minds of the public, plagiarizing is wrong, even for superstars.

So I believe I have shown my point of view of the subject, what about yours and your brother from another mother’s and yes, and your sister from another mister’s?!
Reply back.
Much Love...
Signed, your boy/girl-friend!

its ŪƝĨque, not UNIform !

The great debate over school uniforms constantly continues these days and the majority is siding with the uniforms and that they should be present in all schools because of equallity issues. But whats your opinion, should they be in affect at all schools or should they only be in affect in catholic schools as they are now? And there also is the possibility that there should be no uniforms at all!? My personal opinion that varies from most others is that there should not be any school uniforms, catholic or public school. Why you may ask, my reasoning is because being able to dress how you choose is a way of expressing your self and at the younger ages creativity and uniqueness is extremly important. Having to wear the same thing day in and day out get tiring, another intersting point of view is that some children were specific clothing for their religion therefore the would not be able to attend school for not wear a uniform. Another reason thats uniforms should be rid of is the fact that they tend to be extremly pricy and that some schools have a requirement for specific uniforms, costing anywhere from wooping $20-$70 each which doesn't include the schools embrodery. Beside the fact we all know that the students easily blend in tremendously with each other, what if a crime was committed at school? How would the victim throughly describe the person when everyone is wearing exactly the same thing!? Last but not least we should all understand how uncomfortable school uniforms are but also, they are UGLY! They literally look like they havent changed since the 60's! Like seriousloy now... get with the program! With so many pros compared to cons for not having school uniforms in afftect for all schools, why not is the question? Let the future generation express themselves in everywhich way they can because everyone is unique and has their own freedom to prove so! check out the link below for some added information for this ongoing debate,

F-A-M-E

OH MY GOODNESS, guess what?! I'm famous! Yes its true, everyone and anyone follows me, yes me anywhere and everywhere, at school with friends and even at home with my family! Why, you may ask, well why not?! Its totally awesome, everyone knows who I am and they are just dying to meet or even see me! Everywhere I go there seems to be a crowd following me, taking photos, asking questions and wanting autographs. It is just so wonderful I literally LOVE the paparazzi, they follow me everywhere like love sick puppy dogs! They take SO many photos which is totally on the plus side because who doesn’t want photos of themselves everywhere? Good or bad publicity is publicity, love it or hate it right?

Well now, we all know that my viewers aren't stupid, so you should know that the above is a big FAKE, but seriously when you think about it, what would it be like to be famous and having a large crowd follow you everywhere? Sort of warped in my opinion? Just think a thousand flashing lights going off at once in everyplace you journey to, catching your every move, the good, the bad and the UGLY! I'm pretty sure we all know what the ugly is, ranging from crotch and butt shots to not ready faces and ridiculos looks. I think being famous really isnt what it is all cracked up to be, thnk about it obsessive fans, crazy paparazzi chases, and it all gets worse when celberties travel down hill. Its an over nite adventure and its very unexpected. Theres only so many photos you can block with your hand before things get ouit of control. So is it really all worth it?
